About The Artist

My interest in working with metal all stared with a welding diploma I received from Chippewa Valley Technical Collage. I wanted to learn welding not because I saw myself working in welding as a career; somewhere in the back of my mind I knew I wanted to be designing and creating artwork and useful products for the home of my own imagination. I’ve known all along that I love designing and creating .... not just in iron and copper but other materials too. I chose iron because it gives me the most diversity and allows me to be more creative.

All my life I have worked in metal shops. I have worked on mining equipment, dairy farm equipment, power poles as tall as skyscrapers ... but nothing has given me more satisfaction than designing, creating and fabricating my own ideas. When I create a custom piece of metal art or something unique yet practical for someone's home, it gives me an incredible amount of satisfaction. This is what I love doing!

Every piece of art I create is produced in my own metal working shop, located next to my turn-of-the-century farmhouse in rural Wisconsin. The quiet, rural setting inspires me and helps me focus on creating new designs and coming up with new concepts for artwork and household items. You'll see some of that rural setting captured in a lot of the metal art I design ... I hope you enjoy it!
